This year was marked by growth and progress in my scientific journey. I finish Sophomore year with most of my required credits under my belt. Classes like Organic Chemistry I/II, Molecular Genetics, and Microbiology are now completed, allowing me to make substantial progress towards my degree.
I switched majors (twice) this past year, going from Biochemistry to Microbiology to Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. Under my current major, I appreciate the opportunity to tailor my course progression and take graduate level courses.
Sophomore year I got to start undergraduate research, which has been the most exciting part of my undergraduate experience. I got to pick a thesis project that I will be able to take some directive on, as well as assisting with other projects. I have learned so much from the graduate students and lab techs, and my experiences these past few semesters have solidified my desire to pursue a Ph.D in Biomedical Sciences.
